4-3. RenderLayer

1. Overview

RenderLayer system -- although plugin is a function similar to standard RenderBuffer plugin for Lightwave, the output of the rendering element which does not correspond by RenderBuffer by using a node is possible.
Moreover, although a part of setup is performed by ToonTracer, since it is for sharing a renderer, it is also possible to use only a RenderLayer function, without using the ToonLine functions.

As fundamental usage
  • ToonTracer [PixelFilter]

  • The name of an image, the file path of a save place, and a format are set up with an "Image Export Setting" option tab.
    As opposed to a surface
  • ImageRender [Node]

  • It sets and the image name and value of a writing value are specified.

  • ImageRead [Node]

  • ImageWrite [Node]

  • It is for reading and these nodes writing the value of an image, and an image can also be processed by using it combining the ImageFilter node of third party plugin.

    2.ToonTracer setting

It is a panel opened with the "Edit Render Image" button of the option "Image Export Setting" tab of ToonTracer.

    • Add
    • A new item is added to a list.

    • Del
    • The selection item of a list is deleted.
However, "unReal2_LineImage" cannot be deleted because of the image which unReal uses inside.
    • Select
    • The number of selection lines and the total number of lines of a list are displayed.
    • ImageList
    • It is a list which performs a display and edit of a RenderLayer image.
It can choose by the left click of a line and selection of two or more lines and edit are possible by a Shift + left click or Ctrl + left click.

    Edit of a list item
Unlike operation of general Lightwave, edit of a list item pushes and changes the button of a header line, after choosing the line of a list.
    • Image Name

    • It is a name unique to an image.
Since other nodes are accessed to an image using this name, they cannot use two or more same names within a list.
Moreover, "unReal2_LineImage" cannot change a name because of the image which unReal uses inside.

In the check box at the left end of a header line, all the selections of a list line and all the selection release can be performed.

The name of a selection line can be edited with a right end button.

If the "Update Image Reference" check is validated, the reference place of the node which is referring to this image in a scene can also be simultaneously changed into a new name.
However, since a Surface setup etc. is saved to model data, please perform object preservation after change manually.
    • Color

    • The header line is popup and can set up the color of an image.
"unReal2_LineImage" cannot change a color because of the image which unReal uses inside.
    • Memory output

    • The header line is popup and can set up a check state.
When this check is effective, an image can be outputted to "Image Editor" of Lightwave.
It is used to check an image, without outputting to a file by a test rendering etc.
    • File output

    • The header line is popup and can set up a check state.
When this check is effective, an image can be outputted to a file.
    • Save Folder + FileName

    • The output place of a file can be set up with the button at the right end of a header line.

The folder of a preservation place and a setup of the file name are divided, and can also make a package change only of one of the two.
A check is displayed on the changed item.
    • Format

    • The header line is popup and can set up the output format of a file.

    3.ImageRender Node

    Node

    Main panel

An ImageRender node is mainly used, setting to a surface in order to write a value in a RenderLayer image.
The difference from an ImageWrite node is the point that calculation in consideration of antialiasing of the renderer is performed.

    Input
    • X (NodeInput)
    • Y (NodeInput)
    • It is used to specify the write coordinates of an image.

    • Offset X (NodeInput/Panel)
    • Offset Y (NodeInput/Panel)
    • It is used to shift the write coordinates of an image.
    • Color (NodeInput)
    • The color written in an image is set up.

    • Alpha (NodeInput)
    • The alpha value written in an image or a gray scale value is set up.

    • Image (Panel)
    • The image name for writing is specified.
The peculiar name of the RenderLayer image list of ToonTracer is displayed on popup.
    • Access Value (Panel)
    • It is a dummy value for operating a node.

    Output
    • Access
    • It is a dummy value for operating a node.
The node by which the node of Lightwave is not connected to the root node for increase in efficiency will be disregarded.
In order to avoid it, please connect with the topic which sets up an arbitrary value by a panel and a root node does not use.

    4.ImageWrite Node

    Node

    Main panel

An ImageWrite node is used in order to write a value in a RenderLayer image.
Since antialiasing of a renderer is not taken into consideration, it can be used for processing of an image by combining with image filter node plug-in, such as DP Filter Node of Denis Pontonnier Mr. development.

    Input
    • X (NodeInput)
    • Y (NodeInput)
    • It is used to specify the write coordinates of an image.

    • Offset X (NodeInput/Panel)
    • Offset Y (NodeInput/Panel)
    • It is used to shift the write coordinates of an image.
    • Color (NodeInput)
    • The color written in an image is set up.

    • Alpha (NodeInput)
    • The alpha value written in an image or a gray scale value is set up.

    • Image (Panel)
    • The image name for writing is specified.
The peculiar name of the RenderLayer image list of ToonTracer is displayed on popup.
    • Access Value (Panel)
    • It is a dummy value for operating a node.

    Output
    • Access
    • It is a dummy value for operating a node.

    5.ImageRead Node

    Node

    Main panel

An ImageRead node is used in order to read a value from a RenderLayer image.
Together with an ImageWrite node, it can be used for processing of an image.

    Input
    • X (NodeInput)
    • Y (NodeInput)
    • It is used to specify the read coordinates of an image.

    • Offset X (NodeInput/Panel)
    • Offset Y (NodeInput/Panel)
    • It is used to shift the read coordinates of an image.
    • Image (Panel)
    • The image name for writing is specified.
The peculiar name of the RenderLayer image list of ToonTracer is displayed on popup.

    Output
    • Color
    • It is a color of an image.

    • Alpha
    • They are an alpha value of an image, and a gray scale value.

    6.AccessCollect Node

    Node

    Main panel

An AccessCollect node is used in order to bundle Access connection of other nodes.
It is possible to summarize not only unReal but Access for dummies of other third party node plugin etc.
